    Terminal Emulations

MacWise emulates ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, Televideo TV 925, DEC VT100 and Prism terminals. Esprit III color is also supported in Wyse 370 mode.

MacWise allows a Macintosh to be used as a terminal -- connected to a host computer directly, by modem, or over the Internet. The emulators support video attributes such as dim, reverse, underline, 132-column modes, and graphic characters sent from the host computer, as well as enhanced Viewpoint mode. Features include phone list and dialer for Hayes-compatible modems, on-screen programmable function keys and more (as listed below).

Scroll Back

MacWise version 4 can scroll back to the past 20 pages of data. It remembers the last 20 pages that appear on your screen, regardless of whether the data has scrolled across the screen or the screen has cleared. Video attributes such as inverse and underline are also saved including colors. This means that you can use the scroll bar to scroll back to previous screens to look at the data or print a scrolled back page or copy a selection into the clipboard.

CommToolBox Support

MacWise supports the CommToolBox which allows connections to networks running Ethernet, Appletalk, TCP/IP and other connection tools written for the CommToolBox; as well as file transfer tools such as Text, Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, Kermit and FTP. (Text, Xmodem, Apple Modem and Serial Tools are included). See TCP/IP - Telnet page for more information about TCP/IP and telnet tools.

    Connectivity

    1. Built in Modem supported if not running under OS X. (Use MacWise version 10 for OS X)
    2. Telnet / TCP/IP using a telnet tool
    3. Serial ports via USB to Serial adaptor.

    Other Features

MacWise also provides multiple-session support for up to ten windows simultaneously. The user can connect to several different hosts, or run multiple sessions simultaneously with one host. On-screen text can be copied into the clipboard as an object or as editable text. MacWise allows host menu item selection by mouse click on screen, supports connection scripts, has page forward/back capability and supports ANSI color and Wyse 370 Color.
